Cabbage, that ubiquitous vegetable often found in coleslaw and other dishes, is actually a member of the mustard family. Though it is most commonly associated with green version, cabbage can also come in a variety of colors including white, red, and purple. It is a cool weather crop and can be difficult to grow in hot climates. However, it is relatively easy to grow in most temperate climates and is a common crop in farmers markets.
